Shenandoah
We had time to kill and we had a rental car, so we took off on I-66 out of town and headed for Frunt Royal.

Park entrance at the northern end of Skyline Drive.

Our
smug blue-on-the-outside green-on-the-inside rental Prius, which
actually
did pretty well on interstates, winding mountain roads (paved), and in
the city.

Sad
Ranger Joe is sad.

Some
poor sucker, er, I mean lucky bastard was getting married at
the scenic overlook near the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center.

I'm
not much of a hunter...but if they allowed you to hunt
deer with a .50-caliber machine gun mounted on a Jeep, I'd
try it.
(Probably not in a national park, though...)

Picture
of me taking the previous photo of Linda taking a picture.

Like
most tourists at Shenandoah, we only drove the top third
of the park, exiting at my old station at Thornton Gap.
next....off to Union Station
